A well respected Doctor in the Silo, Dr. Pete Nichols is a recurring character in Silo and the father of Juliette Nichols.

Pete Nichols and Hanna first crossed paths in SY105, and began a sanctioned relationship. Eventually, the two married on June 12, SY108. Pete specialised in paediatrics whilst Hanna was also a member of medical and worked as a surgeon. The two would later have two children, Juliette and Jacob.
The family suffered from a loss when Jacob died in SY122 from a congenital heart defect. Driven by her grief and a desire to prevent others from experiencing the same heartbreak, Hanna set out to develop a magnifying device that would have the potential to cure such defects. This effort would later be thwarted via the Pact, as the creation of such devices was strictly prohibited. Judicial would later intervene leading to Hanna taking her own life shortly after.
Following the death of both his wife and son, Pete immersed himself in his work, unintentionally neglecting Juliette. Grappling with the loss of both her brother and mother, and harbouring suspicions that her father might have alerted Judicial to her mother's research, Juliette made the decision to leave behind the Mids and her father, seeking solace and a new beginning in Mechanical.
When Juliette arrived in Mechanical shortly after, Martha Walker contacted Pete to tell him of his daughters arrival. He ventured to Mechanical in search of his daughter, but eventually came to the realisation that Juliette might find a better life in Mechanical. He chose to respect her decision and allowed her to make her own decision, ultimately accepting her choice to remain in Mechanical under Martha's tutelage.
