Mechanical is one of the divisions of the Silo that operate out of the Down Deep. They are responsible for keeping the generators that power the Silo running and ensuring the systems that keep the population of the Silo alive are running properly.
Mechanical has been run by Knox for an unspecified amount of time. Due to their location in the Down Deep, Mechanical was largely left to their own devices by Judicial and did not strictly adhere to the rules of the Silo, instead relying on discretion and a shared camaraderie between members. Unsanctioned relationships were often ignored in the Down Deep, and Deputies assigned to oversee Mechanical often turned a blind eye to minor infractions.
