Silo Wiki
This article is about a group operating within the Silo. You may be looking for The Flamekeepers, an episode.

The Flamekeepers were a group of residents of the Silo dedicated to preserving the knowledge of the Before Times—the time before the existence of the Silo and before all knowledge of life before was lost, or stolen. The extent of the Flamekeepers reach within the Silo is not known, only that Juliette Nichols is the only remaining member.

Description[edit | edit source]

Little is known about the Flamekeepers, only that which Juliette learned from Gloria Hildebrandt. Gloria told Juliette that the Flamkeepers were a group of people opposed to the Silo, who wanted to preserve the knowledge of life before the existence of the Silo. Over the years, however, Gloria suspects that "they" put something in the water to make them forget, and prevented them from having children in order for the Flamekeepers to die out. Whilst not explicitly revealed, it is assumed that Gloria was referring to Judicial. The Flamekeepers utilised the relics found within the Silo to help them remember.

At some point, Juliette's father, Dr. Nichols, was party to falsly removing the implants of the Flamekeepers that prevented them from having children, giving them false hope that they could concieve, when in reality, their implants had not been removed. Juliette believes that her mother was potentially a member of the Flamekeepers but Gloria could not confirm this, instead remarking that she too had wondered the same thing.

At some point, Gloria was confined to medical, where she has been continously drugged with Lorazepam—a sedative and depressant—to keep her docile and compaciant; she has been held under the guise of suffering from vascular dementia, however Juliette believes this to be false[1].
