A shadow is an individual assigned to follow, and learn from, an experienced member of a particular profession within the Silo; the aim of being a shadow was for the mentee to learn the mentor's role in order to serve the Silo.[1]
There have been numerous shadows in differing professions within the Silo.
Known Shadows[edit | edit source]
When Juliette Nichols arrived in the "Deep Down", she was assigned to shadow Knox. Juliette would later get a shadow of her own when Cooper was assigned to shadow her. It is known at some point that Robert Sims was his fathers shadow, whilst he eventually gained a shadow in Douglas Trumbull, but the latter was murdered by Sims[2] for the good of the Silo.
